The kids and I had a fantastic time at Mote Marine Aquarium this week; we had a hard time leaving!
(You may also like my post about Mote Aquariums new river otters!)
Mote Marine Aquarium is a fantastic place to spend a day; so fun that we were sad to leave! No really; my kids rarely enjoy aquariums and there was complaining when we left after 6 hours!
As you enter; you’re immediately greeted by underwater goodness! There are many tanks full of sea creatures, some of which you can touch!
But of course; Jellyfish are not one you’d like to touch. But as you can see below; I am in love with watching jellyfish. I could sit there all day watching them! There were several species to watch.
Another fun creature I love to watch is seahorses! There were even babies to watch!
Here is the second touch tank; look at how large it is!
I love how my kids could touch so many things!
They had a whole tray of things to touch and examine!
Around every corner there was something new to look at!
Not only is it fun and colorful; it is full of educational facts!
Check out this giant squid they have on display!
My kids love touching stingrays; we were there for at least 30 minutes the first time and came back a second time!
The manatees were happily eating lettuce!
This sea turtle was so fun to watch!
This creature (lobster? I’ll take better notes next time!) was HUGE! They fed him while we were there and he was so beautiful!
They have a 135,000 gallon shark habitat too!
And you can make a fun picture with a shark!
We ate lunch on site at this cute diner, and all of us thought it was delicious! They have ice cream too!
We had a fabulous time at the Mote Marine Aquarium! Don’t forget to read about the North American river otters, a new exhibit that just opened!
